| 1.Objectives: |
The Association was founded on September 9, 1955. Just in that year, the previous Taiwan Textile Association was reorganized into the Taiwan Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing and Finishing Association. In the ensuing year as Taiwan Filament Fabrics Printing & Dyeing Association was founded, the Association was further rechristened the present name. The Association had only 16 member companies in the initial phase and currently has member firms. The Association operates for the objectives of harmonizing relationships of member firms to upgrade the industry and boost economic development. |

| 2.Organization: |
The Member Representative Meeting of the Association is made up of 194 representatives appointed by member firms. The board of directors has 27 directors, including 9 managing directors and 1 Chairman of the Board. The board of supervisors has 9 supervisors, including one standing supervisors and one convener. The Association is headquartered on 12F, 22 Aikuo E. Road, Taipei and has set thereunder the secretary-general to take care of all Association affairs. To facilitate the business operation, the Association has set up “Technological Committee”, “Environmental Protection Task Force”, “Mix Spinning Task Force” And “Printing task force”. |

| 3.Business functions: |
(1)Under the Association are “Technological Committee”,“Environmental Protection Task Force”, “Mix Spinning Task Force” And “Printing task force”. All member firms have appointed representatives and experts to organize such to help carry out various business operations. |
| (2)To help member firms solve labor shortage, the Association has teamed up with other industrial organizations confronting labor shortage to apply to Council of Labor Affairs to import foreign workers. |
(3)In line with mounting environmental protection awareness, the Association has helped member firms propose to the competent authorities of the government in charge of environmental protection to update the unreasonable and impractical clauses of the environmental protection laws and to impose more thoughtful penalties. |
(4)Guide member companies to invest in Mainland China to boost cooperation between Taiwan and Mainland China. |
(5)Apply to Textile Reform Foundation for holding technological seminars, research seminars on Mainland China affairs and 1998 water discharge standards to upgrade study plan. We have heavily applied to Council of Labor Affairs for bringing in more foreign workers. Since 1991, we have brought in foreign workers in six installments, somewhat helped member companies ease up labor shortage. |
